Redevelopment – New Facilities
Work has already been completed on a number of new facilities around the racecourse. As well as The Lodge and The Rocking Horse Nursery, new car parks have been completed for Owners and Trainers and other racegoers, as well as a new Media Compound at the eastern end of the site and the new road bridge over the railway line which now forms the main access route into the site.
As part of the work surrounding the Pre-Parade Ring area the Pavilions will ultimately be re-located to run adjacent to Racecourse Road along the back edge of the Parade Ring. These should re-open following the completion of the first period of works in the Autumn of 2017 for Hospitality Customers.
New betting and bar facilities will also be replace the existing positions in the vicinity of the Parade Ring and the area behind the Dubai Duty Free Grandstand will be re-landscaped following the demolition of the old Copper King Building, currently the main office. This is due to take place after the first phase of works has been completed from summer 2017 onwards.
