Frequently Asked Questions
How long will the ‘heartspace’ redevelopment take?
The construction of the Owners and Trainers facility, new Pre-Parade Ring, Saddling Boxes and new Eastern Entrance will be completed in the Autumn of 2017. The re-modelling of the Parade Ring and new Winners’ Enclosure and the re-positioning of the Hospitality Enclosure will begin at this time and are scheduled to take three to four months.
Will it affect any racedays?
The fixture list at Newbury will not be affected by the redevelopment.
Will getting in to the racecourse change?
In the initial period of works the Premier Arch Entrance will close. The centre of the course and Grandstand entrances will both still be operational and an additional entrance has been opened opposite the Newbury Racecourse railway station.
Will it affect my raceday experience or viewing?
All of the work will take place behind the stands and will not affect the view of racing in any way. The work has been scheduled to minimize the impact on raceday customers and the internal service areas of the course will remain unaffected. As with any development of this scale there are likely to be some temporary facilities in use at various times, but we are working hard to ensure that any inconvenience will be minimal. Please bear with us – the wait will be worth it!
